School of International Education (SIE) is responsible for managing the university’s international exchange programs, recruiting and managing foreign experts and teachers, facilitating the application and promotion of Chinese-foreign cooperative education programs, and handling responsibilities related to teaching and student management. SIE serves as the gateway for the internationalization of GZUC. It upholds socialist education principles, prioritizes character and talent development, and undertakes the mission of teaching and nurturing. In alignment with GZUC’s objective of evolving into a high-level innovative business university with distinctive characteristics, industry roots, service orientation, and a distinguished reputation, SIE adheres to the motto of “Broaden international perspectives, cultivate local sentiments.” Utilizing international exchange and development platforms, SIE actively incorporates high-quality educational resources from foreign partner institutions. It consistently enhances teaching conditions and endeavors to achieve the effective integration of high-quality education both domestically and internationally. SIE is dedicated to nurturing individuals who possess an international mindset, proficiency in English, market acumen, business acuity, creative dynamism, and a practical orientation.

 

School of International Education is a secondary college of Guizhou University of Commerce, tasked with overseeing the administration of Chinese-foreign cooperative education programs and student management. Embracing an open and internationally cooperative education model, GZUC, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, established a collaboration with the International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) in March 2020. Together, they launched an undergraduate Chinese-foreign cooperative education program specializing in Exhibition Economy and Management. Administered by the School of International Education, the program currently enrolls 328 students. Upon successful completion and qualification, students in the program receive a full-time undergraduate diploma and bachelor's degree from GZUC. They also have the option to undergo the language test conducted by ICMS (equivalent to IELTS) or take the IELTS exam. Upon achieving the required language score, they can directly enroll in ICMS’s master’s program.


Current leadership

Yan Yong, a member of the Communist Party of China, with a postgraduate degree from the Central Party School, currently serves as the Party Secretary of the Department of Foreign Languages (School of International Education). Additionally, he holds the position of Executive Director at the Guizhou Tujia Studies Association, focusing on the Tujia ethnic group in China.

 

Han Jun, a member of the Communist Party of China and a professor with a master’s degree, currently serves as the Dean of the School of International Education. He is a member of the National Tourism Vocational Education Guidance Committee, a member of the Guizhou Tourism Standardization Committee, and holds the position of Executive Vice President of the Tourism Education Branch within the Guiyang Tourism Industry Association.

 

Wang Yang, a member of the Communist Party of China and a professor with a master’s degree, serves as the Deputy Director and Deputy Dean of the Department of Foreign Languages (School of International Education). With a wealth of experience exceeding 20 years in higher education English teaching and management, she previously served as the Deputy Dean of the School of Foreign Languages at Kaili University. Additionally, She once held a position as the Deputy Dean of Teaching at the School of International Studies at Hangzhou Normal University while also engaging in learning. In 2012, she received sponsorship from the China Scholarship Council for a visit and study program at the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom.
