The College of Management dates back to the Business and Management Department in 1987, and developed to be the Department of Business Administration in 2000. With the upgrading of Guizhou University of Commerce approved by the Ministry of Education in 2015, the College of Management completed its transformation in 2016.


The College of Management consists of six undergraduate majors, namely Logistics Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Management Science, Business Administration, and Public Affairs Management (Emergency Management Direction). Among these, the Business Administration was approved as the key provincial major, and the Marketing was approved as the comprehensive reform pilot major of provincial level.


The College of Management currently has 71 full-time teachers, including 33 professors and associate professors, 32 lecturers, among which 57 teachers have master’s or doctoral degrees, 38 teachers have enterprise working experiences or achieved relevant professional certificates, 3 teachers are laboratory staff. The teaching team has won awards in various provincial and school teaching competitions, with one teacher being honored with the provincial “Golden Teacher” title. The college has won the title of “Outstanding Team in Guizhou Provincial Education System”.


In the past three years, the teaching staff has completed 26 research projects of various levels, achieved 18 invention and utility patents, published 80 papers, 7 monographs, and 2 teaching textbooks. They have also undertaken multiple commissioned projects. The course Introductory Statistics is recognized as the first-class provincial-level course. Teachers and students have won awards in various teaching competitions, innovation and entrepreneurship contests.


From 2015, the beginning of enrollment of undergraduate students, to July 2022, the college has trained a total of 2,252 graduates. The average employment rate from 2019 to 2021 was 93.89%. By August 31, 2022, the employment rate of the graduating class of 2022 was 80.36%.


There are some well-known graduates from the college, such as Chen Lin, General Manager of Beijing Hualian Supermarket Co., Ltd., Tang Xu, Deputy General Manager of Guizhou Guo Tai Liquor Co., Ltd., and Jiang Yong, Deputy General Manager of Guizhou Bailin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., who have achieved success in their careers.
