In order to strengthen the effective connection between professional talent training and market demand, School of International Education College held a theme exchange meeting on exhibition economy and management on 31, October .
The exchange meeting was chaired by Han Jun, Dean of the School of Tourism Management and International Education. Jeannie Wang, a teacher from the Exhibition Department of International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS), delivered a keynote speech. All teachers from the Exhibition Economy and Management Teaching and Research Office, as well as some Chinese cooperative teachers, participated in the exchange.
Han Jun introduced the development trend of the exhibition industry in Guizhou and stated that whether talent cultivation can connect with market demand is the key to improving the quality of education, adapting to tourism industrialization, and promoting high-quality regional development. He also shared his ideas on the establishment of a modern industrial college that is being prepared. Based on her understanding of Guizhou, the development of the exhibition industry in Australia, and her over thirty years of experience in the field, Jeannie Wang positively acknowledged the development opportunities in Guizhou. She shared the successful experience of International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) from the perspective of Australian education system. She believed that education in the exhibition major must be aligned with the market, focusing on key elements such as finance, resources, and logistics involved in project operations. Students should be trained to control processes, pay attention to details, execute and manage on-site, handle emergencies, and especially have the ability to operate exhibition information management systems. Subsequently, the teachers discussed their teaching experiences and feelings, focusing on teaching and assessment methods, core professional qualities, talent training plans and course outlines, course resources, and university-enterprise cooperation, exchanging ideas and offering suggestions and expectations to Jeannie Wang.
This forum effectively enhanced the understanding of Australian advanced educational concepts in exhibition economy and management among the teaching staff, laying a solid foundation for ensuring teaching quality and optimizing course design.
