On September 13, 2023, the 2023 GZUC Counselor Qualification and Ability Competition was held in the Hubin Third Conference Room. Chen Yingyong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of GZUC, attended and delivered a speech. Yang Wanlin, counselor from School of International Education (Department of Foreign Languages) , won the second prize.
After the preliminary competition organized by each college, 10 counselors stood out to participate in the final competition. During the one-day event, all 10 participating counselors demonstrated their personal qualities, knowledge reserves, and professional skills comprehensively. In the case study session, the counselors carefully and calmly analyzed, judged, and solved the problems presented in the cases, delivering brilliant explanations. In the heart-to-heart conversation session, the counselors showcased their understanding and grasp of student characteristics, the laws of student growth and development, as well as their ability to guide students’ education, solve theoretical and practical problems, demonstrating the charm of the counselors in GZUC.
After intense competition in the case analysis and heart-to-heart conversation sessions, Yang Wanlin, the counselor from School of International Education (Department of Foreign Languages), was well-prepared, had clear thinking, responded fluently, and performed outstandingly, winning the second prize in the competition.
Counselors are the guides for young college students’ thoughts and the torchbearers filled with great love. Through this competition, GZUC aims to practice and train counselors, promote learning through competition, and support the growth and development of counselors.
