Youth witnesses efforts and anticipate success. From April 13th to 14th, GZUC held the two-day 8th Spring Sports Games .

The main competitions of this sports event included long-distance running, sprinting, high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put, and other track and field events. During the two-day sports games, the athletes from School of International Education actively participated in various events with the spirit of “friendship first, competition second,” constantly seeking self-improvement and striving for greater progress. They moved forward fearlessly, believing in the courage of challengers and challenging themselves, showcasing the true spirit of athletes. Students outside the playground also enthusiastically cheered, supported, and provided warm services for the athletes.

During the sports games, the students from School of International Education achieved good results. Wang Xingyan from Class H20-1 was fully focused, mentally uplifted, and displayed light footsteps in women’s 100m and 200m finals, ultimately achieving the first place. Similarly, there was good news from the table tennis competition: Huang Zheng from Class H22-2 secured the first place with superb skills and versatile tactics. Apart from individual events, Wang Xingyan also participated in women’s 4x100m relay along with Wang Fusu from Class H21-1, Gao Siqi and Chen Xiuying from Class H22-1. In the final, the four students concentrated their efforts and gave it their all, ultimately achieving a fourth-place finish. Other students from School of International Education also demonstrated their abilities: Yang Chunni from Class H22-1 continuously challenged herself and achieved eighth place in women’s high jump final despite her injuries; Liu Congzhi from Class H22-1 showcased smooth and powerful throws in men’s shot put final, securing the eighth place; Wang Zile from Class H21-1 overcame physical discomfort in the second half of men’s 1500m race and achieved the seventh place; Zhou Jianlin from Class H21-2 constantly pushed his limits in men’s high jump final, ultimately achieving the seventh place; Cao Xina from Class H22-2 displayed focus and speed in women’s 400m preliminaries, earning an eighth-place finish; Luo Jiyang from Class H22-2 maintained a calm mindset in the table tennis competition, achieving the seventh place. Of course, we also honor those students who gave their all on the field but didn’t secure a place. They still exhibited the spirit of confidence, resilience, determination, and never giving up. This is the essence of sports and the everlasting spark of School of International Education .

With everyone’s joint efforts, the sports event was a complete success. Although the games have come to an end, the images of athletes fighting hard on the field and the voices of classmates cheering will remain in our hearts. We hope that in the next sports games, students will actively participate, break through on the field, achieve better results, and look forward to the new blood bringing us more surprises.
