In order to fully implement CPC’s education policy and deeply study the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, on June 9th, 2023, Professor Wen Daqiang, a member of CPC Committee and Vice President of GZUC, gave a lecture on the situation and policies titled “Striving for a New Situation of High-Quality Development” for students of the School of International Education. The lecture was chaired by CPC Secretary of the School of International Education, Yan Yong, and Zhao Xueshan, the teacher in charge of the school’s Youth League, and students from H20-1, H20-2, and H22-2 classes attended the lecture.
Vice President Wen Daqiang focused on the important content of “promoting high-quality development” in the report of the 20th CPC National Congress, dividing the lecture into three parts: “the primary task related to the overall situation,” “profound and enriched connotations,” and “accurate and pragmatic strategic deployment.” He elaborated on how to implement the new development concept, build a new development pattern, and promote high-quality development. He emphasized the need to fully, accurately, and comprehensively implement the new development concept on the new journey, strive to make innovation the primary driving force, coordination an inherent feature, green development a common form, openness a necessary path, and sharing the fundamental goal of development, and promote the transformation of economic development quality, efficiency, and driving forces. In conclusion, Wen Daqiang encouraged the students to firmly grasp the pulse of the times, resonate with the high-quality development in the broader context, improve their professional skills and innovative abilities, and try to become talents for the high-quality development.
The lecture deepened the students’ understanding of high-quality development. After the lecture, the students expressed their determination to consciously combine their personal future with the destiny of the country and make great efforts to become qualified builders and reliable successors of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
