On September 10, 2023, Guizhou Council for the Promotion of International Trade (Provincial Expo Bureau), Guiyang Municipal People's Government and GZUC jointly organized the “12th China (Guizhou) International Alcoholic Beverages Expo and the 5th Guizhou Conference and Exhibition Economic Development Forum” with the theme of “Innovation•High Quality• Exhibitions” at the Guiyang International Exhibition Center.
At the forum, Professor Luo Bing, President of GZUC, delivered a keynote speech titled “In-depth integration of industry and education to empower the high-quality development of the exhibition industry.” Luo Bing elaborated from three aspects: practical needs, development mechanism, and implementation path, pointing out that “talent is the key to high-quality development; the purpose of integrating industry and education is to improve the quality of talent training and empower the high-quality development of the exhibition industry.” “In the new era , the problem of the disconnect between talent supply and demand restricts the overall improvement of the quality of talent training in colleges and universities, and the training of applied innovative talents still has key flaws. The deep integration of industry and education to empower the high-quality development of the exhibition industry is an urgent need and important trend in the current exhibition industry, and it is also an important way to optimize talent training.” Luo Bing proposed that by establishing cooperation mechanisms, establishing resource sharing mechanisms, establishing talent exchange mechanisms, and taking effective implementation paths from the policy, education, and industry levels to achieve high-quality innovative development of the exhibition industry. President Luo said that through this forum, he hoped to promote the coordinated development of “universities governments, enterprises and associations” and build a community integrating industry and education. GZUC will always adhere to the principle of open education, give full play to the advantages of the university's human resources and the characteristics of new business education, continue to deepen the efficient integration of industry and education, accelerate the university's integration into the development and construction of Guizhou's exhibition economy, help the sustainable, healthy and effective development of Guizhou's exhibition economy, cultivate more innovative professionals to promote the high-quality development of Guizhou's exhibition economy.
After the meeting, President Luo Bing exchanged opinions with participating experts and relevant business leaders, and reached a preliminary consensus for deepening cooperation of "universities governments, enterprises and associations" and laid the foundation for the university to build more, better and broader cooperation platforms for the next step of cultivating talents in exhibition economy and management.
