On Aug 27, the China-ASEAN Inland Open Economic Cooperation and Development Forum, organized by Guizhou Federation of Social Science, Department of Commerce of Guizhou Province and GZUC, opened in Gui’an,  China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week Permanent Venue. On the morning of August 28, GZUC and TAR UMT, participating in the forum, held an education foreign affairs cooperation fair in the first conference room of the Hubin Convention Center of GZUC. The two sides signed a memorandum on education cooperation and had a discussion and exchange on further in-depth cooperation.

At the meeting, Luo Bing, President of GZUC, gave a speech, welcomed Mr. Li Shiwei, President of TAR UMT, and introduced the history of GZUC, teaching and research, personnel training and Sino-foreign cooperation in education. GZUC has 11 teaching units, offering 30 undergraduate majors such as e-commerce, logistics management and marketing, covering 4 disciplines such as management, economics, engineering and art.

Mr. Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UMT, thanked President Luo Bing for his speech and introduced the international enrollment of TAR UMT. There are 8 schools in the university, covering more than 100 majors in the fields of liberal arts, business, management, engineering, teaching and art, offering master's and doctoral programs.

During the discussion and exchange, both sides agreed that the professional settings of the two universities have certain similarities and correlations, and there is a large room for cooperation. The participants exchanged views on the existing international cooperation programs of the two universities, and both sides expressed their willingness to cooperate in the establishment of engineering and English teaching programs. In terms of teacher training, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on teacher ability training, short-term learning exchange, and exchange of teachers. In terms of academics, the two sides discussed in detail international academic exchanges and cooperation, joint application of scientific research projects, and establishment of joint laboratories.

After the negotiation, the two sides signed a memorandum on education cooperation. In the future, GZUC and TAR UMT will carry out further cooperation in international exchanges, teaching and research.
