Recently, the 5th Chinese Folk Song Chorus Festival in 2023 came to an end successfully.
The "Shang Zhiyun" Choir of GZUC won the gold medal in the mixed chorus of Adult Group of Category A, and Mr. Hai Yingjun won the "Award for Excellent Conductor".
There were 55 choirs from more than ten provinces, including Hebei, Guangxi, Yunnan, Fujian, Guangdong and Guizhou, and a total of more than 3,500 people participated in the festival.
Since the launch of the competition, the Party Committee of GZUC has attached great importance to the competition, with the full cooperation of the Department of Publicity of the Party Committee, Youth League Committee, Logistics Department and other functional departments. The College of Culture, Art and Media carefully organized, and all the members of the choir united as one, overcome the difficulties caused by the accommodation, transportation and other inconvenient difficulties in summer vacation, and formulated a one-month intensive training plan. To show the best style, and strive to achieve excellent results in the competition, carefully polish such aspects as the selection of music, vocal practice, song teaching, interpretation of works, creation and arrangement, costume and dance beauty etc.
This honor cannot be obtained without the unity, cooperation and hard work of every member of the choir, which shows the artistic beauty of chorus and the spirit of pursuing excellence of GZUC.
In recent years, the university has always insisted on transforming General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions and instructions on aesthetics into vivid practice in the construction of aesthetic education. It insists on educating people with aesthetics and culture, and integrates aesthetic education into the entire process of talent cultivation of the university to improve students' aesthetic and humanistic qualities.
