To strengthen the leading role in discipline construction, further promote the integration of discipline and scientific research, create a distinctive mechanism for scientific research innovation, and focus on building a discipline system of new business and a high-level university of new business, President Luo Bing led the Office of the President and relevant colleagues from the Office of Scientific Research to conduct a research on discipline construction at Chongqing Technology and Business University on June 15, 2023. The research focused on aspects such as discipline construction, areas of disciplinary expertise, academic team building, and research systems.
The research team was warmly received by Li Zhixiong, Party Secretary of Chongqing Technology and Business University, Wen Tao, President of Chongqing Technology and Business University, and Sun Fangcheng, the former President of Chongqing Technology and Business University. President Wen Tao provided detailed information on the construction of degree-granting programs, key research areas in disciplines, research tasks, and the recruitment of high-level talent at Chongqing Technology and Business University. President Luo Bing introduced the discipline construction and the planned application for a master's degree-granting program at GZUC, and engaged in discussions on disciplinary research directions, the integration of new business and new engineering, the addition of new majors, and the assessment mechanism for disciplinary teams.
During the research, President Luo Bing expressed that GZUC should scientifically plan the overall development of disciplines based on industrial demands. GZUC needs to strengthen research on cutting-edge, forward-looking, and strategic topics, establish distinctive features, and strive for excellence. Encouragement should be given to deep cross-disciplinary collaboration, penetration, and integration, building interdisciplinary and cross-professional platforms and enhancing the contribution of disciplines, aiming to achieve significant breakthroughs in related fields.
Next, GZUC will aim for the construction of master's degree-granting programs, adhere to discipline guidance and build first-class majors, identify positioning appropriately, take proactive actions, respond to concerns, transform and develop, and make every effort to promote high-quality and connotative development of the university.
